Challenges on the Front Line
If you are a health sector professional, you know full well that end-of-life care presents a myriad of complex and demanding challenges.
The ever-growing over-65 population
The realities of financial disparity and insecurity among the elderly
Decreased quality of life
Reduced access to needed resources
A strained health-care system
These and many other complex issues mean increasingly pressing daily stresses on clients, customers, constituents, and those of you who serve heroically on the health-care front lines.
The Increasing Human &
Financial Costs?
These stresses can be even more demanding for professionals who work directly with end-of-life patients or those newly diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses who often face crippling fears and uncertainties.
We regularly read and hear about the impact of these stresses including...
Increased worker burnout
The high turnover rate endemic in health-care professions
Reduced productivity
Physical and emotional exhaustion
Decreased personal fulfillment
Increased risk of error
These critical challenges often result in…
Higher medical errors
Reduced quality of care
Depersonalization of care
Unequal access to appropriate care
Higher preventable infection rates
Gaps in essential services
Resulting in a patient's worst nightmare...
Loss of agency and control
Being legally and financially unprepared
Prolonged mental, emotional, and physical suffering
Being a burden to their family
Being the victims of poor and disorganized care
Being isolated or ignored
